Dear Yuletide Author,
Just a HUGE thank you for writing for me! I am so excited to participate again this year and to see what you come up with! I’m sure that whatever you choose to write will be brilliant, and I’m so happy for you to do your own thing as you will. The below is just a collection of prompts and guidance!
The fic is yours. The most important thing is that you enjoy writing it.
Happy Yuletide!
Love,

I’m fine with genfic, or shipfic - I’ll add preferred/avoided pairings on each fandom. If I mention characters not requested, be absolutely assured I do not expect you to write them, unless you absolutely so choose.
Yay: Found families, first times, friendships, gentle teasing, platonic love and affection, bros for life, adventures, learning, unlikely friendships, nerding out about interests, canon-settings, playing with power dynamics, apocalypse aus, fake dating/fake married, fixit aus (eg somebody lives/not everybody dies), mutual pining, physical intimacy (sexual and non-sexual), protective partners, UST, creepy horror settings, worldbuilding, competence, holiday fic
I will say that I am more than happy with, and in general prefer, no graphic sex in the fic.
Nay: most aus, graphic violence, sick!fic, major character death , food-based/weight-related kinks, scat or other bodily waste related kinks, a/b/o, pregnancy, non-canon background relationships (eg, if writing The Alienist, mentioned Mary/Laszlo or John/Sara is fine as it is canon, but Marcus/Laszlo or Lucius/Sara would not be preferred).
Triggers: sibling death, rape, humiliation
Fandoms

Star Trek: Picard
Seriously though, I have been a Trek nerd since childhood and I loved every inch of Star Trek: Picard. Ignore the naysayers who felt it not real Trek, it's just Trek flavoured differently to what you were expect, as Trek has been since its inception. I absolutely lost it when I realised Jonathan Del Arco was coming back as Hugh. Hugh's story is one of the ultimate Trek stories, in my opinion, and an example of the optimism and love of Star Trek at its finest (if you haven't watched TNG's I, Borg, I strongly encourage you to do so).
Throughout all the pains of his life, Hugh emerged a strong, compassionate and beautiful soul, and it was so wonderful to meet him again, later in life, when he has come to terms with his hybrid identity. You can see him struggle with cynicism, but ultimately, he believes in his work and is devoted to making the universe a more just one. It is so beautiful that at the moment he's undergoing some trials in his life that he meets Elnor, who, for all his outward weapons training and fighter presentation, is simply a being of pure emotion and devotion. Their short relationship was such a beautiful high point of the series - and yes, I shipped it within a second. In that, I am in plenty of good company, including with Jonathan Del Arco.
Honestly, all I want for these boys is a happy ending. It doesn't have to be fluff, but I'd like something shippy, I'd like something hopeful, I'd like for them to get to explore a future that was canonically cut shot. I'd VERY much like it if you ignored the Hugh dying part and fixed this for me.
Of course, if you do want to go fluffy, feel free, I'd be as happy with these boys sitting round snuggling during a holiday time.
Hugh and Elnor are just... love.

The Alienist
Confession time: I absolutely chiefly watched The Alienist for Marcus and Lucius Isaacson and am still in raging denial over what happened in the last episode, so feel free to ignore THAT ever happened, because I certainly will. These two are the perfect package of smarts and decency, I love their relationship with each other and how they present themselves to the world as a team. They're sharp, and they're good at their job - and they know that they're good at their job. I love how unapologetic they are in taking up the space and respect that is due to them in the face of discrimination and antisemitism, and I love how they always always have each other's backs.
Bitsy in season 2 was just a delight, and I fell in love with her instantly - it's not difficult to see how Lucius, when presented with this intelligent, beautiful and brave woman did the same. I'd love to see her growing relationship with the Isaacsons, particularly if it involves her furthering her own career as a detective.
If the big three, Laszlo, Sara or John are mentioned in the fic, I'd prefer it to be in passing, but feel free to give any other minor character a significant role if you so choose!
Potential Prompts
- Aftermath of Bitsy going undercover in the maternity hospital
- Bitsy and Marcus bonding
- Case fic! Sara's out of town and Bitsy has a case - how can the Isaacsons help
- I'd LOVE family/holiday fic for these three

Star Trek: Lower Decks (Cartoon)
Honestly, I put these two as my nominated characters because I would like a fic that focuses on them, but frankly, team fic is fine by me. I love the fond irreverence of Lower Decks, the way that it establishes as part of the greater Star Trek canon, while at the same time taking (gentle) swipes at it. I like how deeply flawed both Mariner and Boimler are, and how for all their prickliness together, they have a special bond that nobody really understands, most particularly them. I don't mind if you want to go gen or ship for these two, I quite like the idea of them falling in love, despite their own best intentions, but I'm not fussed. This is a canon for which I'd prefer no high rating fic, please - something in keeping with the show content is preferable.
Potential prompts:
- Any dumb holodeck adventure, I am FULLY down for.
- Mariner and Boimler, marooned on a planet. What do?
- Star Trek is super tropey - pick any one and I'd love to see these two take it on. Mirror universe again?
- Always love Star Trek holiday fic

The Expanse
Hands DOWN my favourite characters in the show. What I love most about The Expanse is how clever and competent everyone is (do you see a trend? I love seeing people be Very Good at What They Do). Amos is interesting for his very deliberate choice of morality, in which he doesn't feel he can judge himself, so he externalises this part of him. Chrisjen is interesting because she is just... everything. She's the smartest person in any given room, and knows enough to find smarter people than her to advise her. They're both sharp tongued and warm-hearted when they choose to be. Their relationship is an odd one, but a damn fond one, and I adore their flirtatiousness. I'd love anything playing with their dynamic, it doesn't have to be shippy at all. What adventures could Chrisjen and Amos have together?
Potential Prompts:
- Honestly you could give me 1000 words of Amos teaching Chrisjen to walk in boots and I'd take it, but how about Amos showing Chrisjen something of his old life, inadvertently or not?
- Secret mission with Chrisjen and the person they assume is her dumb muscle
- Let. Amos. Flirt.

Doom Patrol
I think the show has done so well exploring Jane's psyche, but there is also so so much more to learn about her. I put in this request without any kind of deep thought about it, because there's nothing that I don't think wouldn't be interesting to explore with Jane. Trip to the supermarket? Sure? Relationship with the rest of her flatmates? Absolutely. Relationship with herself? Yes. There are so many personas to talk to, and figuring out where each fits is a fascinating experience all of its own. What I love most about Jane is that she clearly has an incredible moral code - it's just that the lines are perhaps in different places. How she navigates a world that is absolutely not built for a person like her is heartbreaking, beautiful and hilarious by turns. I adore her.
I'm happy if you want to include the other characters in significant roles, as long as Jane is the focus. I do not ship Jane with any of the others, however, so my DNW for non-canon relationships is still very much in action here.
